Packaging design for Ayond’s Perfume collections. Introducing the desert line symbolizes the rugged beauty of the desert that celebrates desert resilience.

AYOND is based in New York, created and inspired in New Mexico.








AYOND is a desert-inspired skincare and fragrance brand—a clinically crafted beauty and lifestyle brand that combines powerful actives grown only in the desert with topical nootropics and mood-boosting aromatics to rejuvenate from the inside out. AYOND, a synonym for beyond, encompasses the belief that we must create consciously, inclusively, and sustainably to thrive in a future beyond today. AYOND's visual system is inspired by desert resilience, creating a physical and ethereal space for healing and self-discovery.

Working very closely with AYOND's visionary co-founders, Shani van Breukelen and Porter Yates, we crafted a language for primary and secondary packaging with existing production constraints, and maintaining one of the most valuable pillars of the brand: sustainability. The desert wastes nothing, and neither do we.

Our objective was to develop a sophisticated packaging system that elevated the brand's overall aesthetic and seamlessly accommodated the introduction of new collections. The lockup takes center stage in the primary packaging, strategically positioned at the heart of the labels. In the secondary packaging, it is consistently featured at the top of the boxes, ensuring uniformity across all products. To enhance the brand's allure, we incorporated embossed elements, introducing an element of surprise and intriguing textures reminiscent of the unpredictable beauty in the desert.










Commitment to Sustainability.

To guide users through the packaging, we introduced the desert line—a meticulously embossed design element symbolizing the rugged beauty of the desert. This addition celebrates the desert's resilience and serves a functional purpose, showcasing our dedication and directing users through the content. With sleek, all-black printed branding and information, it elevates the overall aesthetics.

As a core brand principle, AYOND is committed to reducing its impact by designing intentionally and instilling an innately sustainable process. The brand mirrors the desert's ethos by purposefully selecting plant-based, recyclable, or eco-friendly materials, seamlessly integrating its identity into these choices.
This commitment to sustainability is evident in the composition of all materials, chosen carefully together with Ayond’s team. Boxes crafted from 100% post-consumer waste paper, specifically using the environmentally friendly Neenah Environment 100PC Natural 100C sustainable paper and repulpable foil. And recyclable glass and plant-based bio-resins are utilized for fragrance bottles and skincare jars.

As a result, the branded details, including the embossed brand symbol and intricate carvings, create a cohesive visual system that enhances product appeal and invites users on a transformative journey of self-discovery and healing from the inside out.
